Sam's Wheel

So I've been reducing the poly count on Sam's tyre model which to be honest does look great.  I cut it in half considering the camera will move around it to lower the count.  This didn't do as much as we thought.  I have now gone thorough the model and found a number of problems with it... there were some faces upon faces and some faces that were never even extruded properly and left with 0 amount of geomertry.  This all adds up and I managed to lose a few hundred Polys.  EVERY POLY counts.

This image above shows one example of the overlapping geometry.  The faces around the edge have not been extruded.

Here is the other example.  These faces have been extruded along side each other, and they can't even been seem by the viewer considering they are WITHIN the wheel itself....

Both problem areas have now been sorted out.
